Campfire West Michigan

Middle school students from Grand Rapids travelled by bus to spend an afternoon painting , printmaking, and horseback riding here in Alto. It was dry and warm but snack under the apple trees was refreshing. I hope this group will return every year. Randall’s Riding Ranch next door hopes they come back also!

Rain is here! Thank you Sky!

As we near the end of a dry hot month the skies are blessing us with a fine rain. I get frightened when sun scorches the grass for weeks, and crops shrivel helplessly. I¬†planted several trees this spring and I’ve been giving them buckets of water to get them through the heat. Not all of them made it.

Here is a painting of a forest. My friend and I went up to be in the north woods and lakes to walk in soft moss, breathe forest air and swim in clear water .
